As we get ready to ring in the new year, it's always fun to have a little look back at the previous one!  So let's take a peek at the top 12 newly-shared recipes of 2018 from The Kitchen is My Playground.

It's always fun to look back through the year's posts and see which ones have taken the top spots as your favorites ... and especially which recipe takes top-billing as the #1 most-viewed of all.

But why 12 top best recipes, you ask?

Isn't it usually a top 10 list at the end of the year?

Yes, it is ... but it's always way too hard for me to stop at 10.  Some of your favorites are really close in numbers, so I decided to just go ahead and include two bonus posts and make it the top 12.  A little extra tastiness never hurts.

5.  How to Make Strawberry Butter ~ I have to admit, this was one of the surprises of the year for me.  I had no idea this simple little recipe would be so popular!  Inspired by the tea room where my bridal luncheon was hosted, this strawberry butter is such an easy and fun way to add a tasty little extra-special touch to breakfast, brunch, or tea time.  We especially love to enjoy it slathered on glazed poppy seed muffins, just like at the tea room.

2.  Blueberry Pie Cookies ~ This recipe took off like a shot.  Published in late August, it was immediately popular.  Modeled after our family-favorite apple pie cookies shared back in 2012, this blueberry version is stuffed full of my Mom's homemade fresh blueberry pie filling.  We're so glad you like them!

1.  Broccoli-Rice Casserole ~ Classic creamy, cheesy comfort food at its best!  And apparently you all love creamy cheesy comfort food as much as we do ... bestowing this recipe the top spot of the year.

  1. I just finished making the Broccoli-Rice Casserole and I put freshly made bacon pieces in because my husband is such a picky eater, but if it contains bacon he MIGHT try something. He even loved this dish as did we all. Thanks so much for all your delicious recipes!!
