Easy Fruit Dip {Just 2 Ingredients, in 3 Flavors!}

July 2, 2016
Love easy recipes that taste great?  Then this Easy Fruit Dip recipe is for you!  With just two simple ingredients, you can whip up this creamy-and-delicious dip in no time flat ... with three flavor choices, to boot.

You know how sometimes a recipe is so simple, it seems too good to be true?

Well, that's kinda the case with this Easy 2-Ingredient Fruit Dip.  I have to admit when I first heard a friend of mine talking about this dip, I was skeptical.

Like really skeptical.

I mean, just two ingredients stirred together are going to make a dip that truly tastes good?  Really??

I was first introduced to this dip by a friend of mine when we were on a girls weekend trip to the beach.  The seven of us ladies on the trip were all gathered in the kitchen of our condo chatting about what we'd like to eat over the weekend and trying ... trying  being the key word ... to come up with some semblance of a grocery list.  {Have you ever tried to create a grocery list with seven girls?  Oh, that process could be an entire blog post on its own!}

You just take a tub of fruit-flavored cream cheese spread and mix it with a jar of marshmallow creme ... and there you have a totally yummy, easy fruit dip!

In the midst of the discussion, my friend suggested she could whip up some easy fruit dip if we'd like.

We all know the question that came next from the group, right? ... "What's in it?"  My friend explained that you just take a tub of fruit-flavored cream cheese spread and mix it with a jar of marshmallow creme ... and there you have a totally yummy, easy fruit dip!

Now maybe I've been living under a rock, but I'd never heard of this simple little concoction.

Of course I was willing to give it a try -- I'm always willing to give foods at least a try.  But I was skeptical, for sure.

I didn't really think the fruit flavor from the cream cheese would come through very strongly ... and I thought the dip would be overly sweet from the jarred marshmallow creme ... and don't even get me started on what I thought the texture would end up like.

And, bottom line, I really thought it would just taste like super-sweetened cream cheese.

Well my friends, once I tasted my first bite, my skepticism was squelched.

Fruit-flavored cream cheese and marshmallow creme do  make a delicious easy fruit dip!

Individually or served up on a platter with all three flavors together, this easy fruit dip makes for great party fare.

The fruit flavor from the cream cheese spread does indeed come through quite nicely, and the texture is light and fluffy ... which goes very well with a variety of fresh fruits.  Or animal crackers, if you'd prefer.

We sampled blueberry and strawberry versions that weekend, both of which were really good.  When I got home, I tried a batch using pineapple flavored cream cheese.  Pineapple is tasty, too!

Individually or served up on a platter with all three flavors together, this easy fruit dip makes for great party fare, or would be a wonderful after school snack alongside fresh fruit.

So if you're skeptical like me that just two simple ingredients can create a creamy-and-delicious dip, give it a try.

Because this is one simple, easy recipe that tastes great ... and is indeed not  too good to be true.
