Peanut Butter Blossom Bars Ingredients:
Aside from some Hershey's Kisses, there's nothing fancy needed to make Peanut Butter Blossom Bars. To whip up a batch, you'll need:
- Creamy peanut butter (we prefer Jif)
- Granulated sugar
- Brown sugar
- Unsalted butter
- An egg
- All-purpose flour
- Baking soda
- Baking powder,
- Salt
- Milk chocolate chips, and
- Hershey's Kisses
How to Make Peanut Butter Blossom Bars:
Peanut Butter Blossom Bars are super easy to make. -- And we love that there's no rolling of the dough into individual cookies required. Just press the dough into a 9x13-inch dish instead, and bake.
To get a batch of these tasty bars going, start by mixing up the simple peanut butter cookie dough base. The only thing different from mixing up the dough for classic peanut butter blossom cookies is, for the bars, also stir some milk chocolate chips into the dough.
Press the peanut butter dough evenly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Then sprinkle it with a couple of teaspoons of white sparkling sugar (or granulated sugar).
Pop the pan in the oven and bake up the dough until the dough has puffed up all over and is a nice golden brown.
Remove from the pan from the oven and immediately top the baked dough with unwrapped Hershey's Kisses in a 4 rows by 6 rows pattern.
After placing the Hershey's Kisses on the baked bars, don't touch the Kisses again until the bars have completely cooled. The Kisses do melt (and glisten!) from the heat of the baked bars, but do keep their shape. If you touch the Kisses at this point, they will smush and their shape will warp.
Sprinkle the baked bars with a little more white sparkling sugar (or granulated sugar). Then cool completely and cut into squares with one of the Hershey's Kisses in the center of each bar.
Then you're good to go with enjoying their chocolate-peanut butter deliciousness. Whether for everyday snacking or for the holidays, Peanut Butter Blossom Bars are just perfect for enjoying any time.

- By hand, stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until just combined and a dough forms. Stir in milk chocolate chips.
- Press dough into the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle evenly with 2 teaspoons of the white sparkling sugar (or granulated sugar).
- Bake at 350℉ for 22-24 minutes, or until puffed up all over and golden brown.

These look delicious! I remember my mother making the bars but nice touch to add the kisses on top! I will definitely be making these! Thanks for the recipe!
ReplyDeletewhat's the milk measurement? not listed...
ReplyDeleteHi, there! There's no milk in this Peanut Butter Blossom Bars recipe, but there ARE milk chocolate chips -- which is 2/3 cup.
DeleteI made this today using peanut butter with “no added sugar”. It was very dry and no peanut butter taste. I made another batch using regular peanut butter and it was perfect. I will definitely make this again, with the correct peanut butter, of course.
ReplyDeleteWe're so glad you enjoyed them, Haley, and stopped back by to let us know! Yes, we definitely love these best with regular JIF peanut butter.
DeleteThese look delicious. Every Christmas we do a cookie swap, but ours is an adult cookie swap, so we make alcohol cookies, bars, etc. I’m not really a baker, but I’d like to try making these with a little Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey in them, but not sure if I need to add a little more flour to make up for the liquid. Do you have any thoughts on if I should adjust anything?
ReplyDeleteHope I didn’t make mistake but used 8x8 didn’t look like enough dough for a 9x13
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they came out very thick! ... but probably still tasty. There is enough dough for a 9x13" pan.
DeleteCan I use a peanut butter cookie mix for this recipe to save time?
ReplyDeleteYou probably could, though we've never tried it so can't vouch for the results.
DeleteOooh these look so delicious! I love PB bars and the chocolate is the perfect touch too!
ReplyDeletePlease stop by and let us know how the bars turn out.
DeleteI wanted to print the recipe & instructions. I ended up printing something like 14 pages. I didn't need all of those pages. Computer ink is very expensive!!!!!! The computer paper is not as expensive. My mother taught me to not waste things, anything!
ReplyDeleteHello, we are sorry to hear about the issue printing the recipe.
DeleteNear the recipe is near the end of the post. In the recipe, there is a print button. Select print and you will be able to print the recipe on 2 pages of paper.
These turned out amazing! I followed the advice of others, only baking for 20 minutes. Didn't want to risk the softness, lol! I only had semi sweet chocolate chips, but that's what I typically bake with. Thank you for the recipe!
ReplyDeleteNo more rolling 45-60 balls, baking them then adding a kiss! This is sooooo easy and tastes just as good, if not better! Thanks for the recipe!
