A platter of these fun and tasty bites comes together with just 3 simple ingredients and all of about 10 minutes of effort.
I've always loved the combination of salami and cream cheese. It's one of those things I used to grab out of the refrigerator as a quick snack when I was growing up. Just grab a slice of hard salami, slather it with a smear of cream cheese, fold or roll it up, and you're good to go with a quick and delicious snack.
Well, these roll-ups take that combination I loved as a kid and amp up the flavor a bit with the addition of sliced green onions. Then, they elevate the look with a beautifully rolled spiral showing in every bite.
Serve the salami roll-up slices alone as bites, or as a topping on crackers. Either way, they're one super-easy, super tasty little savory treat.
Salami Cream Cheese Roll-Up Ingredients:
It takes just 3 basic ingredients to whip up a platter of quick and easy
Salami Cream Cheese Roll-Ups. You'll need:
- Cream Cheese - Use either regular full-fat cream cheese, or lower-fat Neufchatel cream cheese. They both work great.
- Green Onion - Nicely flavors the cream cheese filling.
- Hard Salami - Get hard salami sliced at the grocery store deli. I ask them to slice it thinly, but not shaved.
How to Make Salami Cream Cheese Roll-Ups:
It's super easy and takes no time at all to make Salami Cream Cheese
Roll-Ups.
Start by mixing up the filling. -- Simply stir together a block of softened
cream cheese with sliced green onions.
Then to begin assembling the roll-ups, lay out six overlapping slices of
salami to form a rectangle. Be sure the salami slices overlap enough
that there are no gaps.
Place some of the cream cheese filling on top of the salami rectangle.
Then spread the cream cheese filling into an even layer covering the salami
slices, leaving about 1/4-inch border around the edges.
Roll the salami rectangle up tightly.
With this recipe, you'll end up forming three salami rectangles into three
cream cheese-filled logs.
You can make the roll-ups in two different sizes, depending on which way
you roll the salami rectangle -- starting with the long side, or starting
with the short side.
- Starting with the long side = smaller diameter roll-ups
- Starting with the short side = larger, wider roll-ups
When serving Salami Cream Cheese Roll-Ups to top crackers, I recommend
making the larger-size roll-ups that start with rolling the salami from the
shorter side.
If serving them alone as bites, make them the
smaller-size by rolling the salami starting with the longer side.
Wrap each roll in plastic wrap. And then refrigerate them for several
hours or overnight to let the cream cheese filling firm up.
At the time of serving, simply unwrap the rolls and cut them into pieces. Using a sawing motion with a serrated knife makes the easiest, cleanest
cuts.
Place the cut roll-ups on a platter, and serve just as they are as bites.
Or, serve as a topping for crackers with some simple crackers alongside. If you serve the salami roll-ups with crackers, choose non-salty ones. Salty crackers combined with the saltiness of the salami can be a little "too much."
But no matter how you choose to serve them, one thing's for sure -- Salami Cream Cheese Roll-Ups are certainly one quick and easy snacking treat everyone will love.

Quick & Easy Salami Cream Cheese Roll-Ups
Whip up a platter of these quick and easy Salami Cream Cheese Roll-Ups with just 3 simple ingredients and about 10 minutes of prep. Serve alone as bites, or as a topping on crackers. Either way, they're one super-easy, super tasty party bite!
Prep time: 10 MinTotal time: 10 Min
Ingredients
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 c. chopped green onion
- 18 slices hard salami
Instructions
- In a small bowl, stir together cream cheese and chopped green onion until well combined.
- Lay out 6 slices of salami, overlapping so there are no gaps, to form a rectangle.
- Top salami rectangle with 1/3 of cream cheese mixture. Spread into an even layer covering the entire salami rectangle, leaving about 1/4-inch border around the edges.
- Roll up tightly, starting with the long side for smaller-diameter roll-ups -- or starting with the short side for larger, wider roll-ups.
- Repeat with remaining salami slices and cream cheese mixture to make 3 rolls total.
- Wrap each roll in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
- At serving time, unwrap and cut into pieces. (Cut each roll into about 8 pieces when rolled from the shorter side to create larger-sized wider roll-ups. Cut into about 10-12 pieces when rolled from the longer side to create smaller-sized roll-ups.)
- Serve alone as bites, or as a topping for crackers.
TRACEY'S NOTES:
- If serving Salami Cream Cheese Roll-Ups to top crackers, I recommend making the wider larger-size roll-ups (rolling the salami starting with the shorter side). If serving them alone as bites, make them the smaller-size roll-ups (rolling the salami starting with the longer side).
- Using a sawing motion with a serrated knife makes the easiest, cleanest cuts.
- If serving with crackers, choose non-salty crackers. Salty crackers combined with the saltiness of the salami can be "too much."
