Bacon-Ranch Spinach Dip Ingredients:

To whip up a bowl of Bacon-Ranch Spinach Dip, you'll need:

  • Sour cream & mayonnaise - A mix of both sour cream and mayonnaise create the creamy base of the dip. Using both together makes a richer, creamier dip than relying on one of them alone.

  • Ranch dressing mix - A 1-ounce packet of dry Ranch dressing mix seasons the dip. Look for packets of Ranch dressing mix alongside bottled salad dressings in the grocery store.

  • Imitation bacon bits - Yes, imitation bacon bits! Believe it or not, bottled imitation bacon bits create a better-textured dip and bring more bacon flavor than real bacon in this dip.

  • Frozen chopped spinach - Two 10-ounce packages of frozen spinach bring the signature spinach element to the dip, and make making this dip ridiculously easy. Be sure to thaw and thoroughly drain the spinach before combining it with the recipe's other ingredients.

  • Green onions - A bit of chopped green onion nicely enhances the dip's flavor.

How to Make Bacon-Ranch Spinach Dip:

When we say this dip is ridiculously easy to make, we truly mean ridiculously easy!

To whip up a bowlful, start by thawing and thoroughly draining two 10-ounce packages of frozen chopped spinach. When draining the spinach, you want to really make sure to get its water out so the excess moisture doesn't water down the dip. I warm the spinach in the microwave, drain it in a colander, and then squeeze small clumps of the thawed spinach in my hands to remove as much water as I can. I've also heard of others wrapping the warmed drained spinach in several layers of paper towels and pressing down on it or squeezing it to soak out the water.

To mix the dip, stir together some sour cream, mayonnaise, and dry Ranch dressing mix until they're well combined. Then stir in a bunch of bacon bits and some chopped green onion. Finally, finish the dip off by stirring in the drained chopped spinach.

And that's all there is to it. See, ridiculously easy, right?
