Who doesn't love a scrumptious fall pie?

There's just something so soul-warming and comforting about a fresh-baked classic fall pie.  Whether it be a tasty pecan pie, a slice of Mom's apple pie, a creamy impossible pumpkin pie, or a Southern sweet potato pumpkin pie -- these classic fall flavors just can't be beat.

Bourbon Whipped Cream is a perfect addition to so many sweet treats, especially that Thanksgiving pecan, apple, or pumpkin pie!

Oh but wait, as fabulously tasty as all these pies are in their own rite, there is something that can make them even that much better! -- a dollop of freshly-whipped Bourbon Whipped Cream.

With Bourbon Whipped Cream, it's easy to add that little extra-special touch to your homemade desserts.  Because seriously, it takes all of five minutes to whip up a bowl of this amazingly tasty stuff.

It pairs just beautifully with pumpkin, pecan, and apple desserts.  But truly, I can easily eat it by the spoonful just all by itself -- it's that good.

To whip up a bowl, just grab some heavy whipping cream, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and a touch of bourbon.

Typically whipped cream is made with granulated sugar, but brown sugar is used in this bourbon-spiked version.  The richness of brown sugar pairs fabulously with the bourbon and brings a wonderful depth of flavor to the whipped cream.

If you're worried the flavor of the whipped cream will be too "harsh" with the bourbon, it's not.  The flavor is actually a really nice sweetness accented with a deepness and warmth from the bourbon.

The flavor isn't harsh-alcohol at all.

Whip the whipped cream just as you would for a regular whipped cream -- Start by whipping cream with an electric mixer until it thickens a bit.  Then add in the brown sugar, vanilla, and bourbon.

Then, continue whipping on high speed until stiff peaks form (or until soft peaks form, if you like your whipped cream on the softer side).  Whipping on high speed incorporates air into the cream and gives it volume -- which is exactly how it turns into the whipped cream we're after.

The richness of brown sugar pairs fabulously with the bourbon and brings a wonderful depth of flavor to the whipped cream.

For the best and easiest results, chill your bowl and beaters before you start the whipping.  Be sure your whipping cream is well-chilled, as well.

This keeps the fat in the cream very cold while you're whipping, and allows the fat to better trap in air bubbles as it's whipped.  And this air-trapping is what makes whipped cream light and fluffy, just the way we love it.

Cover and store the whipped cream in the refrigerator until serving time.  Occasionally, a small bit of the bourbon will "settle out" of the whipped cream into the bottom of the bowl after it's sat for a while.  If this happens, just give it all a good gentle stir and the bourbon will incorporate back in.

Then all that's left to do is grab a nice slice of pie, load on a big dollop of Bourbon Whipped Cream, and enjoy the creamy bourbon-spiked deliciousness!

It's such a simple and tasty way to add that little extra-special touch to your homemade sweet treats.  All with just about 5 minutes of effort.
