Sparkling Mint Juleps

Yum
Put a little sparkle in your julep with super fun, super delicious Sparkling Mint Juleps.  Who knew a little bourbon, a little bubbly, and a little mint could be soooo good?

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of La Marca Prosecco.  It is intended for an audience over 21 years of age.

Here's a probably-little-known-fact about me ~ I'm a big fan of bubbles!  So much so that I even have a Pinterest board named Bubbles.  Yes, I looooooove bubbles ... both the soapy blow-them-like-a-little-kid kind and the sparkling sippin' kind.  Hard to say which kind I like better.

Okay.  So, truth be told, ...

I probably like the sparkling sippin' kind better.  Oh, how I love to sip those sparkly little bubbles.

Want to know one of my favorites for when I'm in the mood for a bit of bubbles?  {which is almost all the time}

La Marca Prosecco!

Its affordable price makes La Marca Prosecco an accessible everyday luxury ... so I can enjoy my beloved sparkly bubbles any time {and as often as} I want.

Which is good.  'Cause I want bubbles often.

From elaborate celebrations like weddings and parties, to enjoying a little impromptu get-together with friends, to a simple quiet evening at home, La Marca adds just the right amount of sparkle to any occasion.  And not only is its elegant blue and silver label beautiful, its crisp refreshing flavor pairs fabulously with a whole host of different foods.

And with a whole host of different mixers to make fabulous sparkling cocktails, too.

Like these super fun, super delicious Sparkling Mint Juleps.

Can you believe you can make sparkling Mint Juleps?  Well, you sure can!

And, man alive, are they good ... winning a seal of approval from both me and the hubby.  Who knew a little bourbon, a little sparkling wine, and a little mint could be so good?

Whipping up these tasty little jules ... er, jewels, ... is easy.  Simply combine a bit of bourbon, a bit of simple syrup, and a few fresh mint leaves in a sturdy glass ...

... and crush them together with a spoon {or a muddler, if you have one ... which I don't.}

Then strain the bourbon-mint mixture into a flute ...

... and fill the remainder of the flute with Prosecco.  Then get ready to sip away at the delicious bourbon-y bubbles.  Mmmmmmm.  Bubbles.  Who doesn't love bubbles?

Whether you like to enjoy your bubbles 'alone' or in a fun cocktail concoction like these Sparkling Mint Juleps, La Marca Prosecco offers bubbles you can count on for consistent quality at an affordable price ... so you can indulge as often as you like.

And with La Marca, I plan to indulge quite often.

Ingredients
  • 3 large mint leaves
  • 2 tsp. simple syrup*
  • 2 T. bourbon
  • 4 oz. chilled Prosecco {or other sparkling wine}
  • additional mint leaf for garnish {optional}
Directions
  1. Place mint leaves, simple syrup, and bourbon in a sturdy glass. Muddle well by repeatedly pressing down on and crushing the mint leaves with a muddler or the back of a sturdy spoon. Be sure to thoroughly crush the mint leaves.
  2. Strain the bourbon mixture into a chilled champagne flute. Gently pour in Prosecco.
  3. Garnish with a mint leaf, if desired.
Makes 1 cocktail.

* To make simple syrup, place equal parts water and granulated sugar in a saucepan {I usually do 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar}.  Heat over medium heat, stirring, until sugar is completely dissolved.  Cool.

Enjoy!
