Remember that Reese's peanut butter cups commercial from sometime-in-the-1980's where two people crash into one another and accidentally mush together their chocolate and their peanut butter?  And they say, "You got chocolate in my peanut butter! ... You got peanut butter on my chocolate!"

Well, that commercial is now considered "vintage," my friends  Vintage!  When I did an Internet search for that commercial, this is what came up. -- And see?? ... it says vintage. (As a sidenote, this makes me more than vintage, then. Because I was born a number of years before this commercial came out.)

Well, just like that classic commercial, this Peanut Butter Greek Yogurt Dip always makes me think, "Hey, you got yogurt in my peanut butter! ... You got peanut butter in my yogurt!"  And just like the famous combination of peanut butter and chocolate from Reese's, the pairing really works.

While the combination of Greek yogurt and peanut butter may not be vintage, it is surprisingly good.  Served up with sliced apples, animal crackers, or Elvis-style with bananas, it's a really tasty and healthful snacking treat.

Peanut Butter Greek Yogurt Dip Ingredients:

This creamy and delicious dip only takes 3 ingredients to make. To whip up a batch, you'll need:

  • Vanilla Greek yogurt - Forms the creamy base of the dip. We've tried making this with both plain Greek yogurt and with vanilla.  Using vanilla Greek yogurt makes all the difference, and is absolutely the way to go.

  • Creamy peanut butter - Brings the peanut butter element to the dip. We recommend sticking with creamy peanut butter, rather than chunky, to keep a smooth and creamy texture.

  • Cinnamon - A pinch of ground cinnamon nicely complements the peanut butter and enhances the dip's flavor. Cinnamon doesn't become prominent or take over the flavor of the dip, it's just a flavorful hint in the background.

How to Make Peanut Butter Greek Yogurt Dip:

When it comes to making a bowl of Peanut Butter Greek Yogurt Dip, there's truly nothing to it.

Simple combine some vanilla Greek yogurt, peanut butter, and a small pinch of ground cinnamon in a bowl and stir until they're thoroughly combined. Then chill the dip for about 30 minutes prior to serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Serve it up with apple slices, sliced bananas, other assorted fruits, 'Nilla Wafers, or animal crackers for dipping, and you've got yourself one very tasty snack.

So while this may not be a vintage flavor combination, I think you'll enjoy getting some Greek yogurt in your peanut butter.  And hmmmmmm ... I wonder how it would taste to get some chocolate in my Peanut Butter Greek Yogurt Dip?

I may just have to find out.

  7. Thanks for a great recipe.. I was looking for a PB dip for my rolls as well as my rice wrapss.. I will have all my veggies and PB delivered tomorrow so this will be handy for Sunday brunch for sure.

I do not know who you are but the line of you saying "vintage" cause you were born in 70s made me laugh out so loud since I am in the same boat with you..! In addition, I'm rather vintage and as you may guess, I do love vintage stuff all the time..
