You know those cocktails that are super easy to make, but yet super delicious too? -- Well, Limoncello Lemonade is one of those cocktails, for sure.

Made with a homemade lemonade base spiked with Italian Limoncello lemon liqueur, Limoncello Lemonade is smooth, lemony, and refreshingly delicious.

It's a cocktail that some would label as "dangerous," because you don't really taste its alcohol. -- Which means it can go down pretty quickly and sneak up on you! So be careful not to chug-a-lug this one, tempting as it may be with that fabulous lemon flavor.

But Limoncello Lemonade is not only refreshing and flavorful, it's incredibly easy to make, too. Just squeeze some lemons, and stir that fresh lemon juice together with Limoncello, sugar, and water, tossing in a couple of fresh mint sprigs once everything's well combined. -- That's truly all it takes to whip together this tasty lemon cocktail.

And if you want to make it in advance so it's ready to just grab and pour? -- No problem! A pitcher of Limoncello Lemonade can be prepared up to 2 days in advance and then stored in the refrigerator until you're ready to enjoy.

Limoncello Lemonade's refreshing and tasty combination makes it a perfect drink for poolside, front porch sitting, Sunday brunch, or even a summer bridal shower.

Limoncello Lemonade Ingredients:

It takes just 4 ingredients (+ some water) to make this refreshingly delicious Limoncello Lemonade. To whip up a batch, you'll need:

  • Limoncello - An Italian lemon liqueur that's the star of this Limoncello Lemonade. At about 30% alcohol content, Limoncello gives the lemonade it's alcohol punch.

  • Fresh lemon juice - As with any homemade lemonade, fresh lemon juice is the lemonade's foundation. The recipe needs 1 cup of juice, which takes about 5 to 6 lemons to produce.

  • Granulated sugar - Sweetens the lemonade. Regular granulated sugar dissolves just fine in the Limoncello-fresh lemon juice base.

  • Fresh mint - Adds a nice touch of background flavor to the Limoncello Lemonade. Be aware that the mint can become overpowering if left in the lemonade for an extended time. -- I recommend adding the mint about 3 hours before serving. If you are placing leftover lemonade in the refrigerator to enjoy later, remove the mint sprigs before storing.

How to Make Limoncello Lemonade:

A batch of Limoncello Lemonade is super easy to make, and as a bonus, can be made up to 2 days in advance.

To get a pitcher going, start by squeezing some lemons to yield 1 cup of fresh juice. Place the lemon juice in a pitcher along with some Limoncello liqueur, granulated sugar, and water. Stir the mixture until the sugar fully dissolves, then add in a couple of sprigs of fresh mint.

Cover and refrigerate the Limoncello Lemonade until it's fully chilled.

If you're preparing Limoncello Lemonade in advance, be aware that the mint can become overpowering if left in the lemonade for an extended time. -- I recommend adding the mint about 3 hours before serving. If you're placing leftover lemonade in the refrigerator to enjoy later, remove the mint sprigs before storing to keep the mint flavor from becoming too strong.

Limoncello Lemonade

Refreshingly delicious and super easy to make, Limoncello Lemonade is a perfect cocktail for summertime sipping. Its combination of Limoncello, fresh lemon juice, and a little hint of mint make it one tasty drink for poolside, front porch sitting, Sunday brunch, or even a summer bridal shower.
Prep time: 20 MinInactive time: 3 HourTotal time: 3 H & 20 M

Ingredients

  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. fresh lemon juice (about 5-6 lemons)
  • 1 1/2 c. Limoncello
  • 5 1/2 c. cold water
  • 2 sprigs fresh mint

Instructions

  1. In a 2-quart pitcher, stir together sugar, lemon juice, Limoncello, and water until sugar dissolves. Add mint.
  2. Cover and refrigerate until chilled.
  3. Serve cold. Garnish individual glasses with lemon slices and/or fresh mint sprigs, if desired.
TRACEY'S NOTES:
  1. Limoncello Lemonade can be prepared up to 2 days in advance, covered and stored in the refrigerator. The mint can become overpowering if left in the lemonade that long -- I recommend adding the mint about 3 hours before serving. If you are placing leftover lemonade in the refrigerator to enjoy later, remove the mint sprigs before storing.
  2. I garnish individual servings and the pitcher of Limoncello Lemonade with lemon slices. It's best to add the lemon slices at the time of serving (or no more than an hour or two in advance) as they can also become an overpowering flavor if left in the lemonade for an extended time.
  3. This recipe can be easily scaled to make a larger or smaller batch.
