Praline Party Mix Ingredients:
It takes just 8 ingredients to make this tasty Praline Party Mix. To whip
up a batch, you'll need:
- Corn Chex, Rice Chex, & Crispix cereals - Create the classic party mix crunchy base. While the mix is fabulous with the combination of all three of these cereals, in a pinch, you could omit one and substitute in more of the others.
- Pretzels - Mini pretzel twists bring crunch and a bit of salt for that sweet-salty combination we love.
- Pecan halves - A signature praline element. If you omit the pecan halves, do not add extra cereal or pretzels to replace them. The cereal and pretzels "soak up" more of the butter/brown sugar mixture than the pecans do, and you won't end up with a nice sugary coating on all of the party mix pieces.
- Butter - The base of the party mix's sweet coating. We recommend using unsalted real butter for the best flavor result.
- Light brown sugar - Brings the sweet element to the party mix's coating, creating the signature praline flavor.
- Salt - Rounds out and enhances the praline coating's flavor.
How to Make Praline Party Mix:
It's truly easy to whip up a batch of this tasty Praline Party Mix.
To get started, combine Corn Chex, Rice Chex, Crispix, pretzels, and
pecan halves in a large mixing bowl. Then toss them together gently to

make up for them. The cereal and pretzels "soak up" more of the

Next, bring some butter, brown sugar, and salt to a boil in a
saucepan over medium heat. Pour it over the cereal mixture and toss
gently to get all the cereal and pretzel pieces coated.
Spread the coated cereal mixture onto a rimmed baking sheet.

stirring it a few times. Then cool the mix completely and store in an airtight
container.

Thank you Paula, Please let us know how it turns out.
DeleteI made this yesterday exactly as written, and it's darned good! It's simple and easy and quite tasty and addictive. Next time I may increase the syrup, or add cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice. But honestly, I probably won't, it's really tasty and not too sweet as is!

ReplyDeleteHi, this sounds great. Since my daughter likes Gluten free, do you think Honey Nut Cheerios would hold up with the sugar/butter combo? Or would they get soggy? I have GF pretzels.or i can just increase the Chex Mix. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHello Rita, we cannot vouch for Honey Nut Cheerios as we did not test them in our recipe. We hope you enjoy.
