Well folks, we're getting close to the Superbowl! Yes,
we're just a short couple of weeks away from the absolute greatest sporting event around.
And while I love to watch both the game and commercials, I'm also all about the snacks. And I'm willing to hazard a guess I'm not the only one.
Since my hometown team didn't make it to the big game this year, I've got to figure out who I'll be cheering on. But one thing I'm already sure about? -- We'll have lots of great game-day food to snack on!
Including these addictively delicious spicy pretzels, for one.
Because no matter who's playing or who you're rooting for in the big game, Cajun Pretzels are the
perfect little game-day snack. Spicy -- but not too spicy -- and seasoned with a tasty mix of Old Bay, Ranch, and cayenne pepper, Cajun Pretzels are loaded with fabulous flavor. They're seasoned juuuuuust right to be addictively delicious, in my book.

Cajun Pretzels Ingredients:
Seasoned with a super yummy combination of
Old Bay seasoning,
Ranch seasoning, and
cayenne pepper, these tiny pretzels pack a big flavor punch! With a little kick,
too ... they're spicy, but not too spicy. They're seasoned juuuuuust right to be addictively delicious, in my book.
To whip up a batch, you'll need:
- Mini pretzel twists - Standard mini pretzel twists provide a good amount of surface area to "catch" the mix of seasoning. Pretzel sticks or other pretzel shapes can be substituted, if you'd like.
- Ranch dip mix - A 1-ounce envelope of Ranch seasoning dip mix seasons the pretzels, providing a nice background flavor.
- Old Bay seasoning - A classic favorite blend of herbs and spices typically used to season seafood, Old Bay brings the Cajun flavor element to the pretzels.
- Cayenne pepper - A small touch of ground cayenne pepper amps up the pretzels' spicy heat! Adjust the amount up or down to suit your personal taste.
- Canola oil - Combined with the seasonings, canola oil helps the seasoning mixture fully coat and adhere to the pretzels.
Cajun pretzels are super easy to make and come together in
a flash. Seriously, if you can whisk and turn on an oven, you can make
a batch of these tasty little seasoned pretzels.
To get a batch started, simply whisk together some Old Bay seasoning, an envelope of Ranch seasoning, and a bit of ground cayenne pepper with canola oil. Pour the mixture over pretzel twists, toss to coat, and bake the seasoned pretzels in the oven for about 30 minutes.
That's it! Truly -- easy to make.
Then just pair a handful with an ice cold beer, and you've got the perfect spicy game-day treat.

I've got a batch in the oven right now trying out the recipe. The one I sampled just seasoned before I put in the oven was yummy so I think this will be a keeper! My bag of mini twists was just 16 oz so I added a few from another bag and there was still enough to coat it as well as divide it up on two large half sheets. I've already decided I'm making up the rest since we have a potluck to go to. This way some can stay home with us!! THX Tracey for this and the other wonderful looking recipes you have shared.
ReplyDeleteOn my way to Costco I know I'm grabbing some pretzels while I'm there! What plugin are you using for your related posts? It's lovely! Pinned and tweeted! Thanks for coming by the Friday Frenzy!

ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this recipe. I loved them by themselves and found they are a terrific addition to baked snack mix (you know the one ). Cajun Pretzels are also a great item to include in care packages for college students. The students are learning virtually but they still love care packages and these pretzels are a frequent request.
ReplyDeleteI’m adding m&m’s to my cooled down pretzel mix!!

ReplyDeleteIncredible!!!
I pinned this recipe a decade ago and it's still going strong for a large family gathering every year. They always say, "You better bring those pretzels!" And guess what? Dipping them in ranch is absolutely amazing!
