What happens when you mash-up the two game day favorites of pigs in a blanket and Buffalo wings? That's exactly what we wondered one day. And it turns out, you get one incredibly tasty Buffalo-spiced game day treat!

These Buffalo Pigs In a Blanket are actually my husband's brainchild. After making our favorite Glazed Pigs In a Blanket one day, he said, "Could you make these glazed with Buffalo sauce? I think that would be really good." I was sure the glazed concept itself would work, but will admit I was skeptical of whether we'd actually like the end result.

Pigs in a blanket are slathered and baked in Buffalo sauce to create one super tasty Buffalo-twist on everyone's favorite little pigs.

Turns out my skepticism was unwarranted. -- Because if you like all-the-things Buffalo, these Buffalo piggies taste amazing! They bring all the signature Buffalo flavor we adore from our beloved hot wings, right along with all their signature heat, too. Only instead of chomping on chicken wings, that fabulous flavor is delivered up in a soft and tender blanketed pig.

Serve them up with some blue cheese or Ranch dressing for dipping, and alongside the classic Buffalo wings sidekick of carrot and celery sticks, for one super tasty game day treat. Oh, they're a definitely a fun and delicious Buffalo-twist on everyone's favorite little pigs.

Buffalo Pigs In a Blanket Ingredients:

It takes just 4 ingredients to make these tasty Buffalo Pigs In a Blanket. To whip up a batch, you'll need:

  • Hillshire Farm Lit'l Smokies or other mini hot dogs - It's not Pigs In a Blanket without the pigs! There are about 35 to 40 links in each 12-ounce package of Lit'l Smokies, so a single package should work just fine for this recipe.

  • Crescent Rolls - Crescent roll dough forms the blanket around each Lit'l Smokie.

  • Frank's Red Hot sauce - The cayenne pepper sauce that brings that signature Buffalo flavor and heat.

  • Butter - Mixes with the Frank's Red Hot, creating traditional Buffalo sauce to slather on the piggies.

How to Make Buffalo Pigs In a Blanket:

Buffalo Pigs In a Blanket are truly easy to make. Quite simply, wrap the pigs, pour on the Buffalo sauce, and bake. -- That's all there is to it. Yes, admittedly, wrapping the pigs is a bit tedious, but it's not difficult at all.

So to get a pan of Buffalo Piggies started, first unroll crescent roll dough and separate it along the perforations into triangles. Cut each triangle (through the point) into two pieces, creating two long triangles from each. Then roll a Lit'l Smokie up in each crescent dough triangle piece.

Place the piggy rolls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
