To whip up this tasty dinner skillet, simply prepare a quick ground beef and rice filling, stir in some cheese until it's nice and melty, and top with classic burrito toppings to your heart's delight. Then it's ready to be served up tortilla-less as a burrito "bowl." Or, do what our daughter does -- Grab some tortilla chips to serve alongside for scooping up the deliciousness.

Ground Beef Burrito Bowl Skillet Ingredients:
The ingredients for to make a pan of Ground Beef Burrito Bowl Skillet are pretty basic and straightforward. -- Nothing too fancy here! To make a pan, you'll need:
- Ground beef - Creates the beefy base of the burrito bowl filling. Ground turkey can be substituted just fine, if you'd like.
- Onion - The aromatic that helps amp up the flavor of the beef-based filling.
- Green pepper - Adds wonderful flavor to the burrito bowl mixture.
- Rice - Cooked white rice brings bulk to the filling. Brown rice can also be used instead.
- Dark red kidney beans - Bring flavor and additional bulk to the burrito bowl mixture. We love the flavor of dark red kidney beans, however pinto beans, black beans, or any other variety can be used in their place if you'd like.
- Seasonings - A combination of chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper season the dish.
- Beef broth - Adds moistness and flavor to the dish.
- Shredded medium cheddar cheese - Stirred in just before serving, shredded cheese adds flavor and creaminess to the mixture.
- Toppings - Top individual servings with avocado, sour cream, chopped cilantro, and/or more shredded cheddar cheese, as desired.
How to Make Ground Beef Burrito Bowl Skillet:
Ground Beef Burrito Bowl Skillet dinner is quite easy to make, which along with its fabulous flavor, is what's landed it as a solid "regular" in our weeknight dinner rotation.
To start, brown some ground beef along with chopped onion and green pepper in a large skillet. Then stir in some chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to season it.
Add some cooked rice, kidney beans, and beef broth to the skillet and bring all this to a boil.
Then simmer everything until the beef broth is mostly
absorbed -- which takes all of about 5 minutes.
Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in some shredded cheese until it's nice and melted.
And that's it! Truly, that's it. That's all it takes to make the Burrito Bowl mixture.
Top individual servings with avocado, sour cream, chopped cilantro, and some more shredded cheddar cheese, as you'd like. Then dig on in.

Ingredients
Burrito Skillet:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1 T. chili powder
- 2 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 1/2 c. cooked rice
- 1 (15 oz.) can dark red kidney beans, drained & rinsed
- 1 c. beef broth
- 1 c. shredded medium cheddar cheese
Toppings:
- Diced avocado
- Sour cream
- Chopped fresh cilantro
- More shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Brown ground beef with onion and green pepper in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain fat.
- Stir in chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add cooked rice, kidney beans, and beef broth; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, uncovered, until liquid is mostly absorbed; about 5 minutes.
- Remove skillet from heat. Stir in cheese until melted.
- Top individual servings with avocado, sour cream, chopped cilantro, and/or shredded cheddar cheese, as desired.
