You know those times you want to share the love of a delicious dessert, but for whatever reason you just don't have time to devote in the kitchen?

Maybe you're headed to a party and want to bring a sweet treat?  Or perhaps you're bringing dinner to an ailing neighbor?  Or, you're helping stock the refrigerator of a friend for those first few just-had-a-baby days?

Well, I've got a simple idea for sharing the dessert deliciousness even when time is tight.  Dress up a store-bought cheesecake with this quick & easy Toffee Sauce recipe!

With about 5 minutes of hands-on time, this quick & easy Toffee Sauce recipe is done.

Or, pair a batch of it with a carton of vanilla ice cream.

Or, slice up a pint or two of fresh strawberries and spoon the Toffee Sauce on top.  Don't even feel like slicing up strawberries?  No problem ... this sauce is fabulous spooned over raspberries and blueberries too, no slicing involved.

No matter how you choose to enjoy it, two things I can assure you ~ this Toffee Sauce recipe is quick to prepare, and the result tastes amazing.

Truly, preparing this delectable and versatile sauce couldn't be easier.

Just like with a basic caramel sauce, simply bring some sugar, butter, and whipping cream to a boil.  As soon as the mixture begins to boil, remove it from the heat and stir in milk chocolate toffee bits.  That's it!

No matter how you choose to enjoy it, two things I can assure you ~ this Toffee Sauce recipe is quick to prepare, and the result tastes amazing.

When the milk chocolate toffee bits melt into the warm sugar mixture, it creates the tastiest chocolaty toffee-flecked sauce around.  It's so good, you'll be looking for all kinds of things to drizzle it on ... or perhaps foregoing the drizzle and just gobbling it up straight from a spoon.

The Toffee Sauce can be made in advance ... several days in advance, for that matter ... and stored in the refrigerator.  When it's time to enjoy it, a few seconds in the microwave warms and softens it back to it's original pour-able consistency.

Just be warned, if you're taking a batch of this easy Toffee Sauce to a party or bringing some to a friend, I think you'll want to leave a second batch at home to enjoy for yourself, too.

How to cook Quick & Easy Toffee Sauce Recipe

  1. Combine sugar, whipping cream, corn syrup, and butter in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, and immediately remove from the heat once it reaches a boil.
  2. Let cool for about 10 minutes. Stir in crushed Heath Bars or toffee bits. Allow to cool slightly or chill before using.
  3. If Toffee Sauce is too stiff when ready to use, warm for a few seconds in the microwave. Spoon over cheesecake slices, or serve over sliced strawberries, raspberries, mixed berries, ice cream, or other desserts.
  4. Store leftover Toffee Sauce in a covered container in the refrigerator.
TRACEY'S NOTES
  1. *Heath Milk Chocolate Toffee Bits can be found in the baking aisle of the grocery store, in the same area as chocolate chips. Be sure to get the Milk Chocolate Toffee Bits, not the plain toffee bits. The milk chocolate on the bits is needed to melt into the sauce.

  6. I see that you mentioned this can be made several days ahead. I want to serve this for Christmas which is three weeks away. How long do you think is the longest it can be held? I make hot fudge & hold it quite some time by allowing it to cool in room temps, in an air tight jar, and once it’s cooled I put it in the fridge. Would I treat this sauce the same? Thank you for any help you can give me. It looks sooooo yummy!!
