Easy Chicken Parmesan Slider Ingredients:
Three components come together to create a batch of these easy Chicken
Parmesan Sliders. -- 1. The slider rolls, 2. the filling, and 3. the
butter topping. Fortunately, none of these components are complicated.
For the slider rolls and filling, you'll need:
- King's Hawaiian savory rolls - Form the sandwich base of the sliders. Though we like the savory rolls for these sliders, King's Hawaiian sweet rolls (or any other small dinner rolls) can be substituted just fine.
- Chicken tenders - Prepared breaded chicken tenders from the deli section of the grocery store serve as the crispy chicken filling of the sliders. Packaged frozen breaded chicken tenders work as well. -- Just bake them according to the package directions before assembling the sliders.
- Provolone & mozzarella cheeses - It's not Chicken Parmesan without the cheese! Both provolone slices and shredded mozzarella bring plenty of melty cheesiness to the warm finished sliders.
- Marinara sauce - A signature element of classic Chicken Parmesan. -- Use your favorite brand of jarred marinara sauce.
- Italian seasoning - A blend of herbs that typically includes basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, and marjoram, a small sprinkling of Italian seasoning adds flavor depth to the sliders. If you don't have Italian seasoning on hand, use just plain basil, plain oregano, or a mixture of the two instead.
For the butter topping, you'll need:
- Butter - Melted butter creates the base of the butter topping mixture. We recommend using unsalted butter.
- Garlic salt - Builds bold flavor within the butter topping, nicely seasoning the slider rolls. If you don't have garlic salt on hand, combine garlic powder with a bit of salt as a substitute.
- Grated Parmesan cheese - Be sure to use grated Parmesan, not shredded. Grated Parmesan has a more fine texture that better mixes into the butter mixture and spreads more readily onto the slider rolls.
- Parsley - Chopped fresh parsley lends both flavor and a bit of color to the finished sliders.
How to Make Easy Chicken Parmesan Sliders:
Whipping up a batch of Chicken Parmesan Sliders is pretty easy,
especially if you use prepared fully-cooked breaded chicken tenders
from the grocery store. -- Because then you don't even need to
pre-cook the chicken tenders.
To get a batch of these sliders started, cut several chicken tenders into 2 pieces,
each sized to fit on top of one slider roll. -- You'll need 12 pieces
of chicken total. Set these aside for a bit.
Next, mix up the butter topping mixture. In a small bowl, mix
together some melted butter, garlic salt, and grated Parmesan until
they're well combined. Then stir in a little bit of chopped fresh
parsley.
To start assembling the Chicken Parmesan Sliders, use a serrated
knife to slice the slider rolls open horizontally. Spread the cut side
of the bottom portions of the rolls with some of the butter topping
mixture.
Then cover the bottom portion of the rolls with a layer of provolone
cheese slices. Place a chicken tender piece on the bottom portion of each slider
roll, on top of the provolone cheese.
Drizzle a bit of marinara sauce over each chicken piece.
And then top the slider filling with shredded mozzarella cheese and a
little sprinkle of Italian seasoning.
Place the top portion of the slider rolls on top and brush generously
with the remaining butter topping mixture.
Cover the assembled sliders loosely with foil and bake for about 15
minutes until they're heated through and the cheese is melted. Uncover
and bake for about 3-5 minutes more until the sliders are a nice
golden brown.
Then you're ready to serve up the Chicken Parmesan Slider
deliciousness! -- Loaded with crispy chicken, marinara sauce, and lots of melty cheese, these tasty
little beauties deliver up classic Chicken Parm flavor in every
bite.
