How to Make Chocolate Chai Latte Mix:

A batch of instant Chocolate Chai Latte Mix is truly easy to make.

Simply combine all the ingredients in a food processor, cover, and process until everything's finely ground and powdery. That's it!

Now yes, you could just simply stir everything together in a bowl and call it done. But processing the ingredients in a food processor helps grind down the mix's spices even more finely so they more readily incorporate into boiling water when making a mugful.

Recipe FAQs:
  • How long will Chocolate Chai Latte Mix keep? - When stored in an airtight container, instant Chocolate Chai Latte Mix will keep for up to about 6 months. Do keep moisture out of the mix, however, or it will clump.
  • When making instant Chocolate Chai Latte Mix, can't I just stir the ingredients together instead of processing them in a food processor? - Well yes, when making instant Chocolate Chai Latte Mix you could just simply stir everything together in a bowl and call it done. But processing the ingredients in a food processor helps grind down the mix's spices even more finely so they more readily incorporate into boiling water when making a mugful. We do recommend the step of processing the ingredients together in a food processor.
  • What is instant tea? Is it different than tea in a tea bag or loose leaf tea? - Yes, instant tea is different than loose leaf/tea bags. It's a powder that doesn't require any brewing and is used to make instant iced tea. It's sold in jars/canisters in the coffee/tea aisle of the grocery store, and is labeled as "iced tea." We use Lipton brand unsweetened instant iced tea.

  5. How many servings does this make? I usually use David Rio Tiger Spice mix and add a scoop of hot chocolate mix. I’m excited to try this recipe.

  6. I realize, Tracey, that you do not drink coffee but ... I never drank coffee but then, when I was about 44, I was introduced to hazelnut mochas!! I couldn't justify buying one every work day at the coffee shop so I "invented" my own mix - I simply mix hot chocolate powdered mix and hazelnut creamer (I use Swiss Miss hot chocolate and hazelnut coffee creamer). I actually like my coffee with this mix way better than any coffee shop I have been to!! So, I am thinking perhaps the Chocolate Chai mix might be adaptable to using instant coffee instead of tea?? Worth a try!
