I've got a wonderful Valentines treat for you that will help get your mouth watering for all those fabulous Valentine flavors soon headed our way.  Yes, today I'm sharing gorgeous, mouthwateringly delicious Chocolate Covered Cherry Martinis.

Because my mouth is sure watering for Valentines flavors already.

A few weeks ago I was messing around making chocolate martinis {like the Tony Roma's copycat Chocolate Martini and Hot Chocolate Martini I shared a bit ago} and got inspired to mix up different variations.  I've decided I may like messing with cocktails almost as much as I like baking.

Seriously, it was totally fun making all kinds of different cocktails.  And drinking them wasn't all that bad either.

Maybe I should have been a bartender!

Anyway, this Chocolate Covered Cherry Martini version was absolutely delicious ... rich, chocolate goodness laced with a touch of maraschino cherry sweetness.  It's just perfect for sharing during the Valentine season.

I dropped a maraschino cherry in the bottom of each glass, mixed up a totally tasty chocolate martini mixture ... complete with a touch of chocolate syrup ... and then added maraschino cherry juice {from the cherry jar} to each glass.

The cherry juice gave a fabulous cherry flavor, and sunk down to the bottom of the glass ... creating a pretty little band of cherry-red at the bottom.  See?

Probably no surprise where the name Chocolate Covered Cherry Martinis came from, huh?

To add an extra special touch to this cocktail, I coated the rims of my glasses with a mixture of granulated sugar and grated chocolate.  Total yum.

So, have I got your mouth watering for Valentine flavors yet?  I hope so!  Because I know my mouth is sure watering.

Hmmm, I may just have to mix up and devour another batch of Chocolate Covered Cherry Martinis to get it to stop.
