Strawberry, Blueberry & Greens Salad with Honey Vinaigrette ~ one easy to put together, sweet-and-tangy, stunningly beautiful salad.

Strawberry season is getting into full swing here in North Carolina, and I couldn't be happier.  Fresh-from-the-field strawberries are one of my absolute favorite spoil-myself treats.  And I've already been to our local strawberry farm twice this week to pick up some fresh-picked beauties.

If you love fresh strawberries, too, I've sure got one fantastic way for you to enjoy them ...

... this Strawberry, Blueberry & Greens Salad with Honey Vinaigrette.

With the addition of the white from this gorgeous salad's sliced almonds, Strawberry, Blueberry & Greens Salad is a perfect red-white-and-blue patriotic salad choice for those Memorial Day weekend or 4th of July get-togethers, too.

For the Honey Vinaigrette, I like to combine all the ingredients in a jar ... and then simply put the lid on and shake it all up.  It's super easy that way.

Honey Vinaigrette Dressing

Toss the Honey Vinaigrette with your mixture of green leaf lettuce, fresh strawberries, fresh blueberries, and sliced almonds and you've got yourself one stunningly gorgeous ... and amazingly delicious ... salad.

Strawberry, Blueberry & Greens Salad with Honey Vinaigrette

Beautiful.  Easy to put together.  Sweet-and-tangy from the mix of fresh berries, honey, and white wine vinegar.

And patriotically red, white, and blue.

What more could you ask for from a salad?  Make Strawberry, Blueberry & Greens Salad with Honey Vinaigrette today, and enjoy those in-season strawberry beauties.

prep time: 15 Mcook time: total time: 15 M

ingredients:

Dressing:
  • 3 T. white wine vinegar
  • 3 T. water
  • 1 T. honey
  • 2 tsp. extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
Salad:
  • About 6 c. torn green leaf or romaine lettuce
  • 2 c. sliced strawberries
  • 2 c. blueberries
  • 1/4 c. sliced almonds

instructions:

How to make Strawberry, Blueberry & Greens Salad with Honey Vinaigrette

  1. Combine all dressing ingredients in a small bowl; whisk until well combined. {Or, place in a jar and shake until well mixed.}
  2. Combine strawberries, blueberries, and greens. Add dressing and toss to coat. Sprinkle with sliced almonds.
  3. Serve immediately.
TRACEY'S NOTES:
  1. Once this salad is dressed, the strawberries begin to break down fairly quickly from the vinegar. I recommend tossing the salad with the dressing right before serving.
  2. If you need to prepare the salad in advance, combine the greens, blueberries, and almonds but keep the strawberries in a separate bowl. Add the strawberries and dressing at the time of serving.

  6. Looks delicious! I love strawberries too, but sadly we have no farms nearby to pick ours. I've bought quite a bit at the store this month though, while they're still fresh!

  10. I love all the pops of color in this salad. I do tend to put strawberries or blueberries on my salad but rarely think to use them both. Pinned.
