This Cantaloupe Salad with Maple & Cinnamon is one of those recipes that is so simple ... yet when the ingredients come together, the result is simply stunning.

Now, I know what you're probably thinking ... cantaloupe with cinnamon?  and maple??  But it's a flavor combination that ... surprisingly ... works.  Actually not only does it work, but ...
cantaloupe bathed in a layer of pure maple syrup and speckled with ground cinnamon is fantastic.

And the fantastic flavor combination gets brightened up even more by a small shot of fresh lemon juice.

Now, I know you may be tempted to leave one of these three ingredients out.  And you can.  And this cantaloupe salad will still be quite tasty.

How do I know?

Well, because I've tried it, of course.

So I can truly say cantaloupe salad simply sprinkled with ground cinnamon is quite tasty.

Add the pure maple syrup?  Even better!

Add the shot of fresh lemon juice to brighten and bring out the maple and cinnamon flavors even more?  Stunning flavor.  Simply stunning.

So don't let this recipe's simplicity {and potentially odd-sounding flavor combination} fool you ... Cantaloupe Salad with Maple & Cinnamon is one very simple, surprisingly delicious, amazingly tasty little salad.

Cantaloupe Salad with Maple & Cinnamon

Ingredients
  • 1 cantaloupe, cubed {about 4 cups}
  • 2 1/2 c. red seedless grapes
  • 3 T. pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 T. fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
Directions
  1. In a bowl, whisk together maple syrup, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Add cubed cantaloupe and grapes; toss gently to coat.
  2. Serve immediately or refrigerate for 30 minutes to an hour before serving.
