What is it about classic no-bake cookies that make us all love them so much?

They certainly don't look good ... I mean, they're like little chocolate plops (okay ~ maybe we shouldn't go there).  But boy, they sure do taste good, don't they?  There fabulous taste certainly makes their appearance something we can forgive.

And can I just say? -- When you add Nutella to no-bake cookies, an already-good thing gets even better.

When you add Nutella to no-bake cookies, an already-good thing gets even better.

I made this particular batch of Nutella No-Bake Cookies for a friend of mine for her birthday.  She absolutely loves no-bake cookies.  And until this batch of cookies, she had never had Nutella.

What??

When she told me she'd never tried Nutella I couldn't believe it.  Because truly, Nutella is something that's straight up her alley.  She'd actually never even heard of the stuff.

So I seized the opportunity to make a Nutella introduction for her with this batch of fudgy Nutella birthday cookies.

Oh, how my friend loved these!  When she shared them with her family, her family said they were the best no-bake cookies they'd ever had.  Score.

And I'm glad to say Nutella No-Bake Cookies are just as easy to make as their peanut butter-loaded classic No-Bake Cookie counterparts.  They're made with the same method and the same basic combination of ingredients. -- Just with replacing the classic peanut butter with Nutella hazelnut spread, instead.

Oh, and what a tasty ingredient swap it is.

To make a batch, boil together butter, sugar, milk, and baking cocoa -- just as you would to make the classic version.  Boil these ingredients for 1 to 1 & 1/2 minutes to create the cookies' fudgy base.  Don't exceed the 1 & 1/2 minutes, or the mixture may crystallize and create dry cookies.

Then, off the heat, stir in a little vanilla extract, the Nutella, and a bunch of old-fashioned oats.

Drop the mixture by spoonfuls onto wax paper to form the cookies.

Then let the cookies cool until set.

I love how with the addition of Nutella, you get a little touch of hazelnut flavor in with the chocolate in every bite.  It's a total yum.

So if you love Nutella, I highly recommend whipping up a batch of these super easy no-bake cookies.  I swear, if you can boil water, you can whip up this tasty treat in no time flat!
