Nothing says comfort like good old macaroni and cheese.  It's my all-time absolute favorite comfort food dish, for sure.

Growing up, I loved when Mom would make a huge pan of her totally yummy baked macaroni and cheese, full of flavor and oozing with gooey melty cheese.  She'd make a creamy white sauce on the stove, layer that up with macaroni and tons of shredded cheese, and then bake it all up until it was hot and bubbly.

It was a true labor of love, for sure.

Nothing says comfort like good old macaroni and cheese.  It's my all-time absolute favorite comfort food dish, for sure.

But, you know ... when delicious creamy macaroni and cheese can be made in just 15 minutes on the stove top? That's even better!

And when it includes a tasty combination of 5 cheeses ... and bacon?? Oh my. Comfort food at its finest.

If this sounds great to you, like it sure does to me, you're going to want to check out the new Back Around the Table: An "In the Kitchen with David" Cookbook. The second book from QVC's resident foodie, David Venable, Back Around the Table: An "In the Kitchen with David" Cookbook includes more than 100 recipes, all featuring David's personal spin on traditional comfort food favorites.

Like loading up mac 'n' cheese with five different cheeses.

Five! That's a yummy boat load of cheese.

With eleven chapters of comfort food favorites, you're sure to find something you love that has everyone running to gather back around the table.

Some of my personal favorites I can't wait to try include David's Warm Bacon-Cheese Dip from the 'Mix & Mingle' chapter ... Eggs Benedict Bread Pudding from the 'Brunch & Beyond' chapter ... Guinness Beef Stew from the 'Low & Slow' chapter ... and White Chocolate Pumpkin Pie from the 'Sweets & Treats' chapter.

The little trick of stirring in just a tiny touch of sour cream at the end of it's cooking brought out its extra-creaminess.

Just to name a few.

Truth be told, I'd like to work my way through cooking every recipe in the entire book.  I think I'd be pleased with just about every one!

As for this dish, I absolutely love how creamy the 5-Cheese Stovetop Mac 'n' Cheese came out ...

And David's little trick of stirring in just a tiny touch of sour cream at the end of it's cooking brought out its extra-creaminess. Genius, David. Simply genius.

But even better was the recommendation to add some "divine swine," to quote David, to the finished dish.

Oh, that little sprinkling of crisp bacon put this already-delicious dish over the top.

Macaroni and cheese with 5 cheeses, in just 15 minutes on the stove top, made extra creamy with a touch of sour cream ... and topped with crumbled bacon.

 Divine, indeed.

I'm looking forward to trying out some of David's other recipes from the cookbook, and I think you'd look forward to them, too.  Now pardon me ... I've got to get back to this yummy plateful of mac 'n cheese.
