There sure is a plethora of flavored vodkas that have popped up out there, aren't there?

I swear, every time I go to the liquor store, it seems the vodka row just gets longer and longer.  From fruit flavored, to toasted marshmallow, to root beer, to whipped cream ... and everything in between!  A new flavor {or 100} gets added every time.

To up the fun and flavor factor of this drink, sprinkles are adhered to the glass rim with vanilla frosting.

Truth be told, I'm not a fan of most of these flavored vodkas.  Give me just a good classic regular vodka any day.  Or if I'm really feeling wild and crazy, pass me a bottle of vanilla vodka to whip up a Chocolate Martini, Thin Mint Cocktail, Coconut Snowball Cocktail, or a Gingerbread White Russian.  But truly, that's about as wild as I get with my vodka.

Until now.

Because now?  I've found the inspiration I needed to branch out into another flavor of vodka!

Oh yes, this Cake By the Ocean Cocktail was all the inspiration I needed to be okay with grabbing a bottle of cake flavored vodka.

This perfect-for-summer cocktail is a very simple combination of cake vodka, coconut rum, pineapple juice, and orange juice.  But it's one very tasty simple combination, indeed!

The flavors sure will remind you of sipping away with the tropical ocean breeze, even when you're sipping away in your own living room.

And topped off with a colorful sprinkles rim, this cocktail is just plain fun to drink, too.

To up the fun and flavor factor of this drink, the sprinkles are adhered to the glass rim with vanilla frosting.  Not only does the frosting act as a fabulous sprinkles "glue," it gives you a little taste of frosting with each sip, too.

And making both the cocktail and the sprinkles rim is easy.

To prepare the sprinkles rim, simply grab a fun cocktail glass and dip the rim in a tub of store-bought vanilla frosting, making sure the entire rim gets well coated with frosting ...

If you prefer, you can make your own homemade vanilla frosting for this instead.  Just place the prepared homemade frosting in a small bowl and dip away with the glasses.

Immediately dip the frosting-covered rim in colorful non-pareil sprinkles.  I dip the glass straight-up-and-down and then turn the glass toward its side and roll the edge through the sprinkles, too ...

You should end up with a good thick, even coating of sprinkles all around the rim.

Set the prepared glass aside.  Then repeat the process with any remaining glasses if you're making more than one drink.  The rims can be prepared several hours in advance, or even the day before, if you'd like.

When you're ready to enjoy your cocktail, simply fill your prepared glass with ice and carefully add the ingredients.  Give everything a gentle stir, garnish, and then enjoy sipping on your tasty Cake By the Ocean cocktail.

It's just that easy to make a Cake By the Ocean cocktail to transport yourself away to a beautiful ocean paradise.

Better yet, whip up one of these fun and tasty drinks while you're actually at  the ocean.  Then you'd get to enjoy the best of both ocean worlds!
