I played in the snow today! But my kind of playing in the snow is probably a little different than you're thinking. I didn't make snow angels. Or go sledding. Or build a snowman. Or even have a snowball fight with the neighborhood kids. {and I certainly didn't help shovel the driveway}.
Nope.
Fluffy, unpacked snow works best. Just scoop the snow up with a big bowl. Don't pack the snow into the bowl, as this will make your snow cream less creamy.
My kind of playing in the snow was ... to make snow cream! You know, when you turn snow and a couple of other simple ingredients into a made-from-snow-ice-cream-treat? And I played today by whipping up five different flavors of snow cream. Oohhhhhhhh, they were all so good!
When I awoke to this winter wonderland in my backyard this morning ...
Happy 4th Birthday to The Kitchen is My Playground!
The Kitchen is My Playground turned four this month. I can hardly believe it's been four years since The Kitchen is My Playground came to be ... all because I was stuck in my house for a week by a freakishly huge {for North Carolina} snow storm. Yes, that's the story of how The Kitchen is My Playground came to be ... On a whim one night because I was bored, I poked around about this thing called 'blogging' ... and unwittingly launched an adventure I could never have anticipated.
And what an amazing adventure it has been! {and will continue to be, I'm sure.}
In celebration of The Kitchen is My Playground turning four, I thought it would be fun to take a look at some of my favorite photos on the blog. So I went through my posts and pulled out 15 of my faves to share. It was so fun to look back over the four years!
But before we take a look at the photos, I also have two fun blogging announcements to share ...

At night do you have these wonderful dreams of some kind of sensuous treat? Not zucchini ... fettuccini ... or bulgur wheat ... but a big warm bun and a huge hunk of meat? Do you dream of a cheeseburger in paradise??
Well, how about we replace that big warm bun with a pizza crust?! That would make this a Cheeseburger Pizza in Paradise! With bacon.
And I think Jimmy Buffett would approve, my friends.
