Banana Spice Dump Cake

October 8, 2014
Change up you Fall dessert flavors. ~  Instead of apple or pumpkin spice, give banana  spice a whirl with this tasty Banana Spice Dump Cake!  Thank you to Concord Foods' Chiquita Banana Bread Mix and Sun-Maid Raisins for sponsoring creation of this recipe and post.

What a beautiful Fall day it is here in North Carolina!  The sun is shining ... a gentle breeze is blowing ... the temperature is phenomenal ... and it's just perfect for sitting out on the deck with your feet up while enjoying your lunch.  Which is just exactly what I did.

See?  Here's my lovely-Fall-day-with-my-feet-up backyard view ...

And just look at that Carolina Blue sky.  Gorgeous.

And not only was it a perfect day to enjoy my lunch outside, gazing at the perfect Carolina sky and listening to the birds chirp away ... it was a perfect day to enjoy a deliciously perfect Fall dessert.

But I didn't opt for the 'usual' Fall flavors today ... you know, apple and pumpkin.  That's what we typically think of when we think fall desserts, right?  Apple spice everything {like Slow Cooker Apple Pudding Cake} and pumpkin spice everything {like Caramel Pumpkin Snack Cake or Creamy Pumpkin Cheesecake}.

Nope.  I didn't go for apple or pumpkin spice.

Today I opted for banana  spice.

Thanks to the 'challenge' given to me by my friends at Concord Foods' and Sun-Maid Raisins.

See, Concord Foods' Chiquita Banana Bread Mix teamed up with Sun-Maid Raisins this Fall for their 'Sweeter Together' campaign, and asked me to create an original recipe combining these two fabulous products.

What fun!

I love it when brands reach out to me to create recipes with their products.  It's kinda like my very own personal 'Chopped' challenge ... only with much more friendly and fun ingredient baskets.  And no timer clock tick-tocking away over my shoulder.  {I couldn't handle that kind of pressure!}

Oh, I had so many ideas come to mind for combining these two products, it was hard to know where to start.

Want to know the winning idea from our kitchen?

You probably already guessed it.  From the title of the post.  'Cause you're smart like that.

Umm hmmm ... I created this absolutely delicious, Fall-inspired Banana Spice Dump Cake.

Dump cakes amaze me.

I mean seriously, all you do is dump {hence the name} a bunch of wonderful ingredients into a baking pan ... don't stir them at all ... pop the pan in the oven ... and out comes a fabulous cake.  How does that happen?  Are there little elves in the oven magically making the ingredients blend together into a beautiful baked creation??

I have no idea.

But no matter how the amazing dump cake magic happens, one thing's for sure ...

This recipe certainly proves that Concord Foods' Chiquita Banana Bread Mix and Sun-Maid Raisins certainly are  'Sweeter Together'.

Especially when enjoyed with your feet up on a gorgeous Fall day.
